About The Position

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services is responsible for managing and executing exterior maintenance projects to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations. This role involves coordinating resources, overseeing scheduled work, and maintaining equipment while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. The technician supports cost control through effective procurement and quality assurance, leads third-party providers, and addresses facility users’ concerns. By implementing sustainable improvements and maintaining operational standards, this position contributes to the overall functionality and appearance of Walmart facilities, supporting organizational goals with integrity and professionalism. The Exterior Services team is dedicated to maintaining safe, clean, and functional outdoor environments that support Walmart’s overall operations. This team goes beyond typical maintenance by ensuring facilities are well-maintained to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. Members manage landscaping, seasonal upkeep, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance while coordinating projects and resources effectively. They work collaboratively to uphold company standards, implement improvements, and respond proactively to facility needs. The team’s commitment to quality and safety plays a vital role in sustaining Walmart’s performance and service excellence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing facility services, including exterior maintenance and seasonal activities.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations with a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute work assignments while managing budgets and controlling costs.
  • Skilled in operating and maintaining heavy machinery, powered equipment, and company vehicles safely.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead third-party providers and conduct quality assurance inspections.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills to address customer concerns and collaborate with teams.
  • Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and standards of integrity in all work activities.
  • 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain exterior facility equipment, including snow removal and landscaping tools, ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute scheduled projects, managing materials, purchases, and workforce needs to meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to maintain facility conditions and resolve customer concerns.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and documentation to ensure operational readiness.
  • Lead third-party providers through coaching and performance evaluations to uphold service standards.
  • Implement sustainable facility upgrades and cost-saving improvements aligned with company policies.
