About The Position

The Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, is responsible for managing and executing exterior maintenance projects to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations. This role involves coordinating resources, overseeing scheduled work, and maintaining equipment while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. The technician supports cost control through effective procurement and quality assurance, leads third-party providers, and addresses facility users’ concerns. By implementing sustainable improvements and maintaining operational standards, this position contributes to the overall upkeep and enhancement of Walmart’s exterior facilities in alignment with company policies and ethical practices. The team oversees exterior maintenance operations across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. They coordinate assignments, optimize resources, and implement improvements aligned with business objectives. Providing technical expertise and training, the team maintains equipment quality and operational efficiency. Collaborating with stakeholders, they drive continuous enhancements and adapt to evolving challenges. Requirements

  • Proven experience in facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance and equipment operation.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Ability to manage budgets, approve purchases, and control costs effectively.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer concerns.
  • Competence in operating and maintaining heavy machinery and motor vehicles safely.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching third-party providers and managing work assignments.
  • Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and integrity in all tasks.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to support team and operational goals.
  • Valid, state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification at a minimum of a 90 day card.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize exterior facility service projects, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
  • Prepare and execute budgets, approve purchases, and verify receipt of materials and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and consultation to support procurement and maintenance activities.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management, landscaping, and equipment operation.
  • Conduct safety inspections, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Lead third-party providers, conduct performance evaluations, and maintain vehicles and powered equipment.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify improvements that reduce costs and enhance sustainability.
