About The Position

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient exterior facility operations. This role ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations while managing equipment, performing seasonal maintenance, and coordinating repairs. The technician supports cost control through effective resource management and leads third-party providers to uphold quality standards. By troubleshooting issues and delivering responsive customer service, this position contributes to a well-maintained environment that meets operational needs and promotes continuous improvement aligned with company policies and ethical standards. This group ensures grounds upkeep through landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and pruning year-round. They perform essential maintenance on parking lots, building exteriors, and surrounding areas to uphold cleanliness and safety standards. Requirements

  • Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Experience managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal.
  • Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and resolve facility and equipment issues promptly.
  • Competence in coordinating purchases, cost control, and budget preparation for facility projects.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with management, associates, and third-party providers.
  • Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and quality assurance standards.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
  • 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Nice To Haves

  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety protocols and certification requirements.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice management to ensure safe facility conditions.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational standards.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Coordinate purchases, control costs, and submit warranty claims for parts and equipment.
  • Lead third-party providers and support associate development through coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Implement upgrades and improvements to enhance facility sustainability and reduce operating costs.
