About The Position

The Advanced Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program (AMTAP) is a United States Department of Labor (USDOL) Registered Apprenticeship. The AMTAP program will teach you how to build space flight hardware by providing a phased approach to learning with both classroom and hands-on learning opportunities at our LM Space facility in Courtland, AL. This program will teach you everything you need to be successful, with a graduation success rate well above the national average. This is an entry-level role designed to help build your career, offering paid technical training and paid-for certifications.

  • Ability to demonstrate learning agility to pass both written and hands-on certification requirements
  • Ability to work first, second, or weekend shift after successful completion of the training program
  • All applicants must be a US Citizen and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with M.S. Office applications
  • Familiarity with Aerospace Environment/ Experience in a production environment
  • Electronic/Electrical Theory background
  • Demonstrate integrity and conflict resolution characteristics

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an up to 8 week paid training program (continued participation is contingent upon successful completion of each prior step)
  • Work 40 hours per week during training (4x10 schedule)
  • Learn new technical skills such as torquing, encapsulation, point to point wiring, and reading engineering documents.
  • Have the opportunity to earn several industry recognized certifications (paid for by Lockheed Martin) including: IPC 620 – Cable Harness Certification, JSTD Limited Solder
  • After Training is Complete: Opportunities for potential full time employment for graduating team members, including increase in base pay.
  • If hired full-time post training program, various work shifts may be available. Facility is open 7-days per week.
  • In order to be considered for the AMTAP program you must be willing and able to work non standard shifts.
  • Location will be assigned at either Courtland or Huntsville based on business needs.
