About The Position

Micron Technology is offering a Registered Apprenticeship Program for Technicians in Boise, Idaho. This program allows individuals to gain valuable hands-on experience in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment while Micron pays for their education. The program offers two distinct technician pathways: Equipment Technician Apprentice, focusing on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing equipment, and Process Technician Apprentice, focusing on monitoring production flow, improving efficiency, and supporting manufacturing operations. The program follows an "earn and learn" model, combining on-the-job training with classroom education, and upon completion, apprentices earn a U.S. Department of Labor–recognized credential and gain experience for a long-term career.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Willingness and ability to enroll in the College of Western Idaho as part of the apprenticeship program to pursue and complete one of the following Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees: STEM-focused Manufacturing Technology Associate degree or Advanced Mechatronics Technology (AMET)
  • Basic to intermediate PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom)
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Reliable written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Flexibility to work and rotate shifts as needed (including nights), with support for class schedules

  • Equipment Path Interest: Mechanical aptitude or experience with equipment, tools, or repairs
  • Equipment Path Interest: Basic knowledge of electrical systems or AC/DC circuits
  • Process Path Interest: Interest in manufacturing operations, logistics, or process improvement
  • Process Path Interest: Ability to identify patterns, troubleshoot problems, and think analytically

Responsibilities

  • Partner with production, engineering, and technician teams to support daily fab operations
  • Monitor performance, identify issues, and support operational efficiency
  • Troubleshoot equipment or process-related issues and support resolution efforts
  • Accurately document work performed and communicate updates clearly
  • Complete required safety training and follow all safety protocols
  • Support continuous improvement efforts across the fab
  • Adhere to all apprenticeship program guidelines and expectations
