Technician Apprentice Program - Body Apprentice
About The Position
Caliber Collision is hiring a Technician Apprentice Program (TAP) – Body Apprentice for its Santa Monica - Lincoln service center. The apprentice performs all-purpose duties that may include repairing damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition using industry-approved repair techniques. They are responsible for learning the program’s training material and hands-on skills, following a mentor’s direction, learning to read estimates and identify damage, repairing vehicles, and checking work for quality and accuracy. No prior experience is required. Apprentices who complete the program can graduate with in-demand skills and move into a body technician career. The position pays $20–$22 per hour, with earning potential of $70,000 or more per year after completing the program.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under Caliber’s insurance policy.
- Be able to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Be able to prioritize competing tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to perform consistent physical activity, including reaching below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting, and lifting objects over 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Previous collision experience.
- Collision Vo-Tech certification.
Responsibilities
- Repair damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition using industry-approved repair techniques, as assigned.
- Learn all required training material and hands-on skills.
- Follow the mentor’s direction while learning to read estimates, identify damage, and repair vehicles.
- Check work for quality and accuracy.
- Complete required training and certifications relating to TAP.
