About The Position

Join WSP’s Rail & Transit team in Toronto as an Technical Writer, where your expertise will help shape complex transportation infrastructure projects that move communities forward. Working alongside engineers, project managers, and technical specialists, you will play a critical role in delivering clear, accurate, and client‑ready documentation that meets project, regulatory, and WSP quality standards. Requirements

  • Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. A degree in Engineering or Architecture is beneficial but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience producing technical documentation in an engineering or consulting environment, preferably for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and document formatting tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, review, and format technical documents for transportation infrastructure projects, including reports, procedures, standards, specifications, and technical submissions.
  • Edit documents for clarity, consistency, grammar, and compliance with style and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (rail systems, civil, structural, electrical, systems engineering, and project management) to gather and organize technical content.
  • Translate engineering and technical information into clear, concise, and well‑structured documentation for internal use, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Support document review cycles, revisions, and version control in accordance with project requirements.
  • Apply established templates, style guides, and document control processes.
  • Coordinate with project teams to meet schedules, milestones, and deliverable requirements.
