CACI is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor to further develop their technical writing and editing skills to support contracted Government taskings. The ideal candidate will be able to take roughly written content on an unfamiliar subject that is not correctly formatted or styled, has spelling errors, knowledge gaps, inconsistent terminology, etc., and reorganize the content to flow logically in the correct sequence using consistent terminology to improve readability and understanding. They will also correct all errors in spelling, syntax, grammar, and voice, and reformat to follow a consistent layout of headers, body text, bullets, and numbered lists. The candidate will rewrite the text to be direct, use active voice, and follow an internal style guide, ensuring the text is written at the reading level of a high school student. Additionally, they will identify knowledge gaps, logic errors, missing/conflicting steps, or incorrect assumptions, and flag them for the designated subject matter expert to review. The role also involves creating a basic graphic and text layout following the team's internal style guide and using the approved templates, requiring flexibility and professional judgment as no two documents are 100% alike and the style guide does not have an answer for every scenario. The work site will fluctuate between the customer site, CACI office, and home site (with prior arrangements), and the candidate must be within commuting distance of one of the specified public Naval Shipyards.
