About The Position

Ampcus is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and highly-organized Technical Writer to support documentation efforts for AI initiatives at a leading independent federal agency focused on financial system stability. This role will be responsible for producing clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that supports the development, deployment, and adoption of AI technologies—including Agentic AI, Generative AI (GenAI), and traditional ML systems. The Technical Writer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex technical concepts into accessible materials for diverse audiences, including developers, analysts, policy staff, and leadership.

Requirements

  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of federal documentation standards and accessibility requirements.
  • Experience with diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio).
  • Experience documenting AI/ML systems, APIs, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with GenAI platforms and Agentic AI concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain program management and technical documentation for AI platforms, models, APIs, workflows, and infrastructure components.
  • Develop policies, procedures/SOPs, user guides, system manuals, and onboarding materials for GenAI and Agentic AI tools.
  • Write clear and concise content that supports training, change management, and governance efforts.
  • Work closely with program manager, AI/ML architects, AI/ML engineers, developers, and program stakeholders to gather source material and clarify requirements.
  • Participate in product demos, sprint reviews, and technical discussions to stay informed of system updates and changes.
  • Translate technical jargon into plain language for non-technical audiences while preserving accuracy.
  • Ensure documentation adheres to federal standards for accessibility (Section 508), security, and compliance.
  • Maintain version control and documentation repositories using tools like Confluence, SharePoint, or Git.
  • Review and edit content for clarity, grammar, formatting, and consistency across deliverables.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge bases, FAQs, and quick-reference materials to support AI literacy and responsible use.
  • Assist in the development of communication materials that explain AI capabilities, risks, and governance policies.
  • Support reporting and strategic communications as needed.
