Technical Writer

The job overview for this role is to design, develop, and deliver documentation for the Habu user guides and API documentation. This includes tailoring the documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences, gathering feedback to improve the documentation, and writing user interface text, online help, and developer guides. The role also involves providing feedback on API standards, selecting tools and technologies for portal publishing, and developing content re-use and single-sourcing strategies. A degree in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred, along with at least 5 years of experience.

• Design, develop & deliver documentation for the Habu user guides and API documentation for various audiences and personas.
• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation.
• Keep up to date with product status and feature enhancements.
• Gather feedback from customers, internal and external, to improve documentation.
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides.
• Provide feedback on API standards and consistency between API designs.
• Help evaluate and select tools and technologies for portal publishing.
• Develop content re-use and single-sourcing strategies.

• In-depth understanding of the product and documentation requirements
• Ability to design, develop, and deliver documentation for user guides and API documentation
• Experience tailoring documentation for both technical (Data Scientist) and non-technical (business user) audiences
• Gathering feedback from customers to improve documentation
• Writing easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides
• Providing feedback on API standards and consistency
• Evaluating and selecting tools and technologies for portal publishing
• Developing content re-use and single-sourcing strategies
• BS/BA Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred; related degree or work experience
• 5+ years of experience
