About The Position

The Technical Warranty Manager leads the Warranty Systems Engineering team in safeguarding the field performance of Magna’s Driveline portfolio. As the primary technical authority for transfer case systems, you will bridge the gap between warranty data analytics, manufacturing, and design engineering. Your mission is to transform field data into actionable engineering solutions, driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to enhance product quality and reduce warranty costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in automotive Driveline/Powertrain Design /Manufacturing.
  • Strong Problem solving skills like 8D’s 5whys, fishbone etc.
  • Ability to interpret warranty data from various customers.
  • Strong communication skills – oral, written, interpersonal.
  • High computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to predict and project data based on available sample data
  • Ability to multitask and respond to customer needs at a moment’s notice.
  • Strong problem resolution/solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Design/Process PFMEA and Manufacturing Control Plans.

  • Six Sigma / RedX Black Belt
  • Ability to use Minitab and MS Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor the Warranty Systems Engineer team to ensure high-performance problem-solving and rapid response to field issues.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting for technical warranty claims, including the teardown and analysis of returned transfer case units.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between Troy/Ramos Engineering, Driveline Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams to validate corrective actions.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for OEM customers; lead warranty review meetings and present comprehensive technical summaries and resolution plans.
  • Utilize statistical tools to monitor warranty trends, predict field failure rates, and provide actionable insights to the design and manufacturing teams.
  • Champion the development of new technologies and process improvements to enhance transfer case durability, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to IATF quality standards, Magna’s corporate constitution, and rigorous safety/environmental policies.
  • Practice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.
  • Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).
  • Drive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost.
