About The Position

This role organizes, delivers, and evaluates training programs for professional, technical, and hourly employees across Gulf Coast sites. The specialist will maintain training records and compliance documentation, develop and update training curriculums, monitor employee progress and program effectiveness, and recommend improvements to support regulatory compliance, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Training & Development, Business Administration or Management or Occupational Health & Safety (EHS / HSE) preferred.
  • 5+ years in a chemical manufacturing or related safety environment required.
  • Demonstrated skills to complete work independently and through influence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications (database entry).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, including ability to manage numerous follow-up actions and deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively and drive improvements across all levels of the site organization.
  • Good oral communication skills to effectively deliver training to individuals and groups.
  • Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence and remain solution-focused.
  • Proven strong oral and written skills with the ability to communicate effectively from senior management to plant level employees.
  • People management skills including the ability to establish trust, motivate, and train team members.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to facilitate collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • High level understanding of industry, processes, equipment, and terminology to comprehend project requirements and challenges.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health best practices and corporate standards.
  • Train the Trainer or equivalent training course on delivering effective training.
  • Knowledgeable in safety practices and driving improvements to site safety policies to help drive Operational Discipline and regulatory compliance.
  • Capability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose solutions to improve processes.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for tasks as required (FRC uniform, hard hat, safety toe work boots, respiratory protection, safety glasses, chemical googles, face shield, gloves etc.).

  • OSHA PSM regulation knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and conducts employee training programs across Gulf Coast sites.
  • Conducts ongoing evaluations to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommends modifications as necessary.
  • Develops new training programs.
  • Monitors training results through employee progress and maintains records of training attendance to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Makes determination regarding individual's ability to perform tasks and/or position responsibilities.
  • Participates in audits where review of training records and policies are needed.
  • Maintains training records for the site, including working with area trainers to ensure operations records are in compliance with regulatory requirements, site and corporate policies.
  • Drives improvements for site policies and procedures to ensure employees receive optimal refresher training.
  • Owns and drives improvements in computer-based training and evaluates replacement systems.
  • Coordinates, develops with Subject Matter Experts (SME), and delivers safety training to drive enhanced operational discipline and compliance.
  • Participates in TRBs to make determination regarding individual's ability to perform tasks and/or position responsibilities safely and effectively.
  • Manages the learning system (HIS/VECTOR/PMOPS) and works with SMEs and other training resources to ensure all materials are reviewed.
  • Supports document control processes, including creation, revision, approval routing, and archiving of training materials, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinates periodic reviews of site procedures and training documents to ensure content remains current, accurate, and compliant.
  • Tracks and reports compliance metrics, including training completion rates, overdue training, and audit findings; escalates gaps as needed.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
