SpaceX•Memphis, TN
•Onsite

About The Position

The Technical Trainer, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), trains and certifies SpaceX personnel at the Memphis site in safety, equipment use, and technical work. The role delivers high-risk and operational safety training, keeps courses current as processes and documents change, and partners with EHS and shop-floor teams as the site transitions from construction into production. This position reports to the Technical Training Manager. The trainer supports the launch and ongoing operation of Memphis safety training, from construction mobilization through production. This includes orientation, task-specific, high-risk, and site-specific instruction. The role also maintains training records and course materials, coordinates training equipment and vendors, and responds to training-related incidents, quality escapes, and missed qualifications by leading root-cause analysis and corrective action. This is an on-site role in Memphis, Tennessee, with travel to other SpaceX sites as required.

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support production, construction, and site priorities.
  • Ability to travel to other SpaceX sites as required.

  • Experience with production or construction processes, including workflow, QMS, safety, and software applications, and experience reading engineering drawings.
  • Experience enforcing training standards on live construction or manufacturing sites, including contractors and multi-employer workforces.
  • Experience supporting internal, customer, or regulatory training audits.

Responsibilities

  • Train and certify technicians in high-risk and equipment-use competencies, including confined space entry, HAZMAT general awareness, LOTO, respiratory protection, crane operation and rigging, forklift, aerial platforms, work at height, hot work, excavation, scaffolding, and other required safety training.
  • Enforce training gates so personnel do not perform high-risk tasks without verified competency.

  • Partner with EHS to ensure training meets OSHA and SpaceX requirements and remains current with procedure and document changes.
  • Coordinate training equipment and third-party vendors, including rentals, and ensure instructional equipment is safe, available, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Create, maintain, and improve course materials, including presentations, hands-on aids, student handouts, and assessments for live and online programs.
  • Schedule and deliver classes to meet new-hire, recertification, construction, and project-driven demand, keeping qualifications current and closing gaps.
  • Support the LMS by assigning required training, maintaining accurate and audit-ready records, and keeping data actionable.

  • Walk production floors and construction sites; deliver and audit training at the point of work.
