About The Position

The Technical Support team is responsible for creating and maintaining Plant 5 proprietary working documents for all P&WC engine families (turbofan, turboprop, regional, and turboshaft). The group also focuses on solving problems related to component repair at the tooling, programming, and laboratory levels. This internship seeks an individual with technical experience in machining and sheet metal work, who will collaborate with aftermarket experts in engineering, tooling, chemistry, and metallurgy. The role is operations-focused and will be entirely on-site. The intern will manage a product line in component repair, supporting operations to ensure the delivery of components and engines for Plan 5, and resolving issues that impede progress. The position also involves technological development and improvement projects, requiring coordination and communication across multiple disciplines to ensure successful delivery of high-visibility projects. The intern will contribute to maintaining process health and developing optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable
  • Pursuing a degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills in French (spoken/written)
  • Good skills in the CATIA V5 environment
  • Good knowledge of computers (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Support operations in the repair of components
  • Prepare, create, and modify work instructions to clarify processes
  • Support investigations with the quality team if an error occurs during repair (act as a technical expert)
  • Management of technological development and integration projects with the resulting follow-ups to ensure progress and address the points that slow down the evolution
  • Preparation and cost analysis for future repairs available on the market
  • Feasibility and capability analysis before the introduction of new products with the help of the various specialists of the team and the plant
  • Maintain effective communications with key stakeholders, multidisciplinary team members and operations
