About The Position

Per Scholas Seattle is seeking a motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic Technical Support and Office Assistant Intern to join our team. While this role places a strong emphasis on hands-on IT support and hardware/software troubleshooting, it is uniquely designed to expose the candidate to the full scope of operating a workforce development non-profit. As an intern, no two days will be the same! You will work very closely with our local campus leadership team—supporting classroom tech operations, recruitment, professional development, talent solutions, and daily site management. You’ll be exposed to various facets of nonprofit program management engaged in a wide range of tasks and projects. Whether you are looking to launch an IT career or step into the non-profit sector, this role provides invaluable, multi-faceted experience, executive exposure, and high-impact skill-building opportunities.

Requirements

  • Practical understanding of Salesforce (or other CRMs) and proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet, Slides).
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills with the comfort level to speak with business executives and diverse audiences.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for technology and hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • High achievement mindset, exceptional project management, strong follow-up habits, and detail-oriented time management.
  • A can-do, super-positive attitude, a strong willingness to help and encourage others, adaptability, and a desire to serve as an ambassador/evangelist for the Per Scholas mission.
  • High interest in learning non-profit operations, talent development, and cross-functional leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service or client-facing experience is highly helpful.
  • Graduation from a Per Scholas training program is a plus, though not required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, configure, secure, and maintain campus hardware—including workstations, laptops, and break-and-fix units—for staff and learners.
  • Serve as a backup for classroom management, assist with taking attendance, check in with absent learners, and provide direct technical support.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to learners navigating the IT Support curriculum.
  • Support community outreach and represent Per Scholas at offsite recruitment events as needed.
  • Assist with data cleanup and maintenance within our Salesforce database.
  • Act as dedicated technical support for loaned learner laptops.
  • Organize resume templates, interview guides, networking materials, job-search tools, LinkedIn resources, and AI prompt libraries. Review and flag outdated materials.
  • Build and maintain an updated list of Seattle-area tech events, networking opportunities, and career programming.
  • Track learner participation and assist with Professional Development sessions.
  • Help prepare presentation decks, gather learner graduation statements, and assist with campus graduation ceremony setup.
  • Conduct outreach via phone and email to introduce potential employer partners to Per Scholas and gauge hiring interest.
  • Assist in coordinating mock interviews, employer panels, and networking events.
  • Monitor inventory for kitchen and food supplies, manage daily kitchenette cleanup (including dishwasher operation and dish storage), and keep shared areas organized.
  • Assist with overall campus event logistics, including ordering and setting up catering for office events and strategic meetings.
