About The Position

Better Living Health and Community Service is seeking a motivated and reliable Technical Services Coordinator - Telecommunications to join our team for an 12 week contract this summer. This entry-level role is ideal for a student or recent graduate who is interested in developing practical experience in information technology, technical support, and digital systems within a professional work environment. The Technical Services Coordinator - Telecommunications will provide day-to-day technical and administrative support, including: assisting with IT planning, coordinating and preparing IT Committee meeting materials, assisting with Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing, conducting staff lunch and learns for basic IT processes, Helping maintain IT inventory and asset tracking and performing other related duties as assigned This position reports to Manager, Business Operations and Governance and works full time (35 hours per week) out of Better Living Health and Community Services, 1 Overland Drive, North York, Ontario M3C 2C3.

Requirements

  • Eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
  • Interest in information technology or computer systems
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with common software (Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, organized and eager to learn.
  • Background in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, gained through: Post-secondary education or; Relevant coursework, certifications, or formal trainings.
  • Basic understanding of IT support concepts such as hardware setup, software installation, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve common technical issues in a timely manner

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic front-line IT support to staff by diagnosing and resolving hardware problems
  • Support day-to-day operation of desktop computers, laptops and printers
  • Assist users with Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint
  • Respond to and document issues, troubleshooting steps and resolutions
  • Assist with routine system maintenance and security best practices
  • Maintain accurate IT inventory records and assist with device tracking
  • Support basic networking, user account management, and access permissions as required
  • Collaborate with internal team members and External IT Consultant to improve IT processes and service delivery
  • Follow organizational IT policies, procedures, and data protection standards
  • Assist with IT planning activities and administrative coordination
  • Coordinating, preparing, and organizing materials for IT Committee meetings
  • Supporting Disaster Recovery Planning, including documentation, testing, and reporting activities
  • Assist with the development and deliver of staff “lunch and learn” sessions related to basic IT processes, tools and best practices
  • Helping maintain IT inventory records and asset tracking system
  • Supporting documentation of IT procedures and internal processes
  • Performing other duties as assigned in support of IT operations.
