About The Position

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for providing field technical sales support to customers of John Brooks Company in various markets and industries. The incumbent will be responsible for consultative field sales activities – both generating and closing sales opportunities, necessary to maintain and grow business for Pump products. Our Technical Sales Representatives are responsible for overall customer satisfaction, while meeting or exceeding the territory sales and profitability targets.

Requirements

  • College Diploma in a related field
  • Bilingual (English/ French)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of related experience
  • Proficient sales skills and a keen desire to continue developing those skills
  • Sound technical and mechanical proficiency relating to various product applications
  • Advanced computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word etc.)
  • A hunter mindset with a strong technical aptitude and a general understanding of industrial processes
  • Interpersonal savvy in order to build and maintain relationships
  • Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong presentation skills and experience preparing professional PowerPoint decks
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated alignment with John Brooks values; customer first, ownership/accountability, respect, performance excellent, integrity and innovation

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of industry products, systems and applications
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems

Responsibilities

  • Providing top quality field technical sales support to customers for pump products and pump systems
  • Managing and servicing existing business/client base within sales territory
  • Establishing and maintaining professional business relations with new and existing customers
  • Conducting sales calls/meetings with existing customers to discuss new opportunities/products, cross-sell new products, follow up on prior orders/ongoing applications, and close orders
  • Prospecting, generating, and qualifying sales opportunities and leads; conducting sales calls/meetings, providing recommendations, and discussing product options & opportunities
  • Visiting customers to review products & applications, evaluate and recommend custom pump solutions to suit individual customer needs
  • CRM management; creating, submitting, tracking, and updating statuses of all proposals, quotations, and customer inquiries in Maximizer
  • Participating in joint calls with management, suppliers, and other division representatives
  • Liaising regularly with internal team members to provide product and system technical support, and assist with product selection and proposals
  • Representing the Company in tradeshows; conducting professional technical presentations, and promoting core products for specific product applications
  • Setting professional development goals and working towards their fulfillment; attending all required training
