About The Position

Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to promote and sell company products to new and existing customers in an assigned territory. The role works with designers, engineering consultants, contractors, distributors, and government officials to support solution and specification development, provide technical assistance, and apply problem-solving skills to maximize sales. The position operates with a moderate level of autonomy, with guidance available from regional leadership. The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for meeting sales goals, developing territory-specific business initiatives, building customer relationships, supporting projects from consultation through delivery and installation, and managing sales channels, pricing, quotes, and orders. The role also requires maintaining product and competitor knowledge and providing technical presentations and project documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably civil or environmental, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 3 years of experience in site civil projects, technical sales, or engineering.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation.
Business and engineering knowledge, including knowledge of the construction industry.
High-level leadership and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, CRM software, and basic CAD.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.

Responsibilities

Meet or exceed annually established sales goals for the assigned territory.
Follow the Sales Engineer Operating System and work with field leadership to establish and achieve territory-specific initiatives.
Contact established and prospective customers in the assigned territory, provide personal service, develop new accounts and product applications, and increase market share.
Consult with customer representatives to determine project requirements, provide technical assistance, gather project information, and explain products and solutions.
Conduct technical presentations and obtain favorable specifications for Contech products.
Plan and organize territory coverage and sales approaches to develop the assigned territory effectively.
Manage direct and distribution sales channels and develop quotes and orders.
Develop pricing strategies for customers and projects in the assigned territory.
Develop and maintain knowledge of competitors' products, quality, sales, pricing, marketing, production facilities, and limitations.
Support projects with submittals, production, and product delivery during installation.
Investigate customer issues and claims through on-site visits and work with regional leadership to develop resolutions that minimize Contech's exposure.
Continually increase product knowledge through product literature, design specifications, field and laboratory test results, and hands-on experience in the field and manufacturing plants.
