This role is responsible for the sales of instruments, services, reagents, and other consumables to new and existing accounts within a defined territory. The position requires an in-depth understanding of market segments, technical knowledge, and strong selling skills to meet and exceed company sales forecasts. The Technical Sales Consultant will work with sales management to develop and execute territory growth plans, identify potential sales leads, and convert them into sales. This involves regular travel throughout the assigned territory to call on customers, solicit orders, perform product demonstrations, attend trade shows, and provide troubleshooting. Building strong customer relationships is crucial for enhancing current and future business. The role also involves researching and resolving customer issues, utilizing the company's electronic account management system (CRM) to document interactions and track opportunities, and completing required reports. Collaboration with colleagues, supervisors, and corporate staff on strategic market analysis is expected to maximize territory potential. The position requires providing competitive and market trend information to management to identify new product opportunities and marketing programs. Working collaboratively in shared accounts to grow overall company sales is also a key responsibility. Maintaining confidentiality of customer and technology information is essential. Domestic and international travel is required, along with performing additional projects as directed.
