About The Position

Advanced Heat Treat Corp. (AHT) is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Technical Sales Associate to join their team. This is a role within a values-driven, family-owned business that is a leader in the heat treat industry. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills to attract, engage, manage, and build relationships with new and existing customers. This position is based in Waterloo, Iowa, and reports to the Sales Team Manager, contributing to the Sales and Marketing team. AHT has a 44-year history, offers over 20 services, and serves industries such as agriculture, construction, and automotive. They are ISO/TS16949, FFL, and NADCAP certified and are recognized as a worldwide leader in heat treatment, particularly for their ULTRAGLOW surface treatment process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technical field preferred.
  • 3+ years in industrial customer service or sales.
  • Position will require travel throughout your assigned territory.
  • Travel is expected 50% of the month.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key cross-functional contributor and collaborative member of the Sales and Marketing team.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and follow up on leads provided from website traffic, email, and direct mail campaigns.
  • Ensure pricing of all products meets expected profit margin and adjust pricing based on competition, supply, and demand.
  • Attend occasional tradeshows or conferences to develop leads and continue professional growth.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
  • Effectively communicate value propositions through in-person visits, email, and phone calls.
  • Manage effective customer communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with the operations manager to ensure orders are delivered and exceed customer expectations.
