About The Position

Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company reclaiming the lost art of rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world today. By prioritizing relentless hardware iteration, we deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield. We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a full-time position. The Talent Acquisition team plays a critical role in identifying and hiring the exceptional talent that drives Hermeus' mission and growth. Recruiting at Hermeus means partnering on technically complex, high-impact searches in a fast-paced environment where hiring quality and speed matter. You'll work closely with leadership, influence talent strategy, and help scale the teams shaping the future of aerospace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience supporting highly technical roles within fast-paced, high-growth organizations.
  • Prior recruiting experience within the aerospace, defense, space, or other advanced technology industries is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the competitive talent landscape across aerospace, defense, and adjacent engineering sectors, with the ability to leverage market intelligence to influence hiring strategies and talent acquisition outcomes.
  • Demonstrated expertise utilizing a broad range of sourcing tools, research methodologies, and innovative talent attraction strategies beyond traditional platforms to identify and engage top technical talent.
  • Experience leveraging Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably Lever, to effectively manage candidate pipelines, maintain data integrity, and drive recruiting efficiency.
  • Proven ability to attract, assess, and hire world-class engineering talent while delivering an exceptional, high-touch candidate experience throughout the recruiting lifecycle.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage, nurture, and convert highly passive candidates in competitive talent markets.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and consultative partnership skills, with the ability to influence hiring decisions and build credibility with leaders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Hiring Managers and business leaders to lead intake and kickoff meetings, define hiring requirements, align on headcount needs, and provide strategic guidance throughout the end-to-end recruiting process.
  • Develop and execute proactive, long-term talent acquisition strategies to build and maintain robust pipelines for both immediate hiring needs and future organizational growth.
  • Identify, source, and engage top-tier talent through innovative sourcing methodologies, recognizing that the strongest candidates are often not actively seeking new opportunities.
  • Leverage employee referrals, industry networks, market intelligence, emerging technologies, external search partners, and professional events to strengthen employer brand awareness and cultivate diverse talent pipelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive candidate assessments while effectively communicating the Hermeus mission, culture, growth trajectory, and total rewards philosophy to attract and engage exceptional talent.
  • Manage and coordinate all stages of the interview process, ensuring a seamless, high-touch candidate experience from initial outreach through offer acceptance.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant candidate records, pipeline data, and recruiting metrics within Lever and other talent acquisition systems.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment by supporting recruiting initiatives across the organization and contributing to the continued growth and success of Hermeus as an industry leader.
