About The Position

Modo Energy is seeking a Recruiter to join their small People team and support the company's growth. This is a full-cycle generalist role responsible for managing searches across both technical and commercial functions, from initial sourcing to closing candidates. The Recruiter will report to and collaborate with the Head of Operations, partnering with hiring managers in engineering, product, and pre/post-sales. This role involves advising on hiring best practices, ensuring roles are well-defined, and maintaining high hiring standards.

Requirements

  • A couple years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a mix of technical and commercial hiring
  • Startup or scaleup background
  • Experience in or genuine enthusiasm for the energy and cleantech sector
  • Strong instincts for what makes a good hire
  • Data literacy: track pipeline, know numbers, and use them to improve
  • Low ego, high ownership, bias to action

  • This role could grow into a People leadership role after 6-12 months

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle hiring for technical and commercial roles across New York
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role scope, success criteria, and sourcing strategy
  • Run structured, consistent processes that move fast without compromising quality
  • Use data to understand pipeline health, conversion rates, and quality of hire
  • Deliver a candidate experience that reflects Modo's values
