Technical Publications Lead
About The Position
Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is seeking a Technical Publications Lead in Olathe, KS. This role involves guiding a team of technical writers and/or documentation specialists, and liaising with various business functions. The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning for documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure publications are clear, consistent, and accurate. The Lead must possess excellent communication skills, foster trust within the team, and maintain a focus on customer needs. Essential qualifications include a strong background in technical writing, critical thinking, and a commitment to safety. The Lead is also responsible for holding team members accountable and promoting professional growth and inclusivity. Deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills are necessary to structure problems and develop sensible solutions. Familiarity with MS Office applications, Smartsheet, and Adobe is required, along with exposure or experience in topic-based authoring. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, construction industry practices, and renewable energy is beneficial.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or greater preferred or 10+ years industry experience
- 8 + years’ industry experience preferred
- Familiar with MS Office applications, Smartsheet, Adobe
- Exposure or experience with topic-based authoring
- Deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills
- Ability to apply structure to specific problems and produce sensible solutions
- Robust background in technical writing
- Commitment to safety
- Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.

Responsibilities
- Develops and improves technical documentation strategies, including style guides, content architecture, workflows, and more.
- Builds a team of confident, skilled, and engaged team members.
- Prioritizes documentation tasks in alignment with roadmaps and business requirements.
- Becomes a point of contact for internal stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Oversees editorial review process and provide 1:1 training for technical writers.
- Interfaces frequently with the technical publications manager on strategy and day-to-day operations.
- Participates in and suggests continuing education opportunities.
- Performs other related duties as and assigned.
