We are currently seeking to hire a Technical Publications Specialist at our location in Michigan City, Indiana.

Requirements

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), and/or possess willingness/aptitude to learn these programs – must be page layout/graphics literate.
  • Experience with researching and gathering relevant technical data from subject matter experts, such as engineers, sales professionals, and service technicians, as well as from internal, and/or vendor-supplied documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills.
  • Able to work unsupervised in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a technical publication role.

Nice To Haves

  • CAD- or vendor-based vector graphics experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work within standardized guidelines and checks to create, compile, route, edit and publish master book files, from which final PDF content is created for distribution.
  • Work / re-purpose CAD- or vendor-based (preferred) vector graphics, or create as needed, in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Ability to create, re-work or parse viable technical specifications, support materials, demonstrations, and/or abstract auxiliary information into objective and clearly written instruction and/or data conveyance, in accordance with set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Confer with appropriate personnel to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
