Technical Project Manager

Infosys•Reston, VA

About The Position

In the assigned Job Role of Technology Consultant 3, the position supports client projects by gathering requirements, designing and developing software solutions, guiding testing and implementation, and coordinating system rollouts. The role also analyzes incidents, maintains knowledge bases, contributes to technology selection and implementation roadmaps, and provides technical input to proposals and RFPs. The Infosys Engineering unit focuses on product-centric value delivery through innovative engineering solutions, data-first engineering, and value-stream management. It uses technologies including AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics to improve delivery processes and accelerate time to market. The role calls for adaptability, problem-solving, scalable architecture design, alignment of technical solutions with business goals, hands-on development, quality-focused testing, and knowledge sharing. The position requires hands-on experience with core Java and AngularJS, knowledge of specified AWS services, and the ability to design end-to-end systems. Preferred experience includes DevOps tools and responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools. A bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent is required, though three years of progressive experience in the specialty may substitute for each year of education. Relocation and/or travel to the work or project location may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship; Infosys cannot provide immigration sponsorship for this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of each year of education.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DevOps tools, including GitLab and Terraform.
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot to understand code, generate tests, debug errors, refactor, document, and accelerate delivery while reviewing outputs rather than relying on them blindly.

Responsibilities

  • Create business requirements documents covering functional and non-functional requirements based on information gathered from client stakeholder workshops and interviews.

  • Create and guide comprehensive testing strategies that conform to functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Guide technical implementation of system infrastructure and new software applications to support efficient deployment and adherence to project schedules.
  • Orchestrate system transitions and rollouts to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Analyze incident trends, identify root causes, propose sustainable solutions, and establish monitoring protocols.
  • Provide specialized insights and build collaborative relationships with clients and internal teams to support successful project execution.
  • Establish and maintain knowledge bases so vital information is systematically recorded and readily available.
  • Collaborate with architects on technology-tool selection and assess the prospective influence of new technologies.
  • Contribute to technical implementation roadmaps based on client business needs.
  • Contribute software-application development insights to proposals and RFPs.
