About The Position

Carrum Health is hiring a Technical Program Manager to coordinate cross-functional programs and run the operating rhythm for Product & Technology. The role sits in the engineering organization and works across product, data, engineering, information security, infrastructure, IT, and marketing. Programs may include service-line launches, enterprise client go-lives, security remediation, rebrands, infrastructure migrations, and partner integrations. The position reports to the Chief Product & Technology Officer and is an individual-contributor role. The Technical Program Manager owns engineering and product operations, including planning cadence, roadmap and capacity tracking, release management, delivery metrics, and operational tools. The role establishes program scope, milestones, owners, dependencies, and schedules; maintains a portfolio view; identifies and resolves cross-team conflicts; and communicates clear status and decisions to leadership. It also coordinates clients, Centers of Excellence, TPAs, and vendors when needed. The role runs planning and operational routines, release readiness and launch coordination, delivery-health measurement, and supporting compliance activities. It will help mature incident management, coordinate adoption of AI-native engineering practices, and operate the engineering and product onboarding program. The successful candidate will use AI agents and automation to reduce manual status tracking and reporting. Carrum Health is a remote-first company with employees across the United States. The role may include occasional travel for team offsites, client events, or company gatherings. Salary is $170,000–$215,000 depending on geography and experience, plus equity and an annual bonus.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years as a technical program manager or in a similar delivery role at a software company.
  • At least 2 years running programs spanning engineering and non-engineering teams.
  • Technical depth sufficient to read architecture diagrams, follow API or data-integration discussions, and distinguish actual blockers from less significant issues.
  • A track record of shipping multi-team programs on committed dates, with examples to discuss.
  • Strong written communication, with concise and specific status updates that lead with decisions needed.
  • Comfort with ambiguity at a small company and ability to build only the processes needed.
  • Hands-on fluency with planning and tracking tools such as Jira, Linear, Asana, or similar, and with spreadsheets or dashboards for delivery metrics.
  • Practical use of AI tools in own work and curiosity about using agents to run operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare, health-tech, benefits, or insurance experience, especially involving PHI, HIPAA, or payer and provider data.
  • Experience with security and compliance programs, such as audits, risk remediation, or vendor reviews.
  • Experience running enterprise client implementations or partner integrations.
  • Background as a software engineer, data engineer, or engineering manager.
  • Experience at a company scaling from tens to hundreds of employees.

Responsibilities

  • Turn strategic initiatives into executable programs with scope, usable-value milestones, owners, dependencies, and agreed schedules.
  • Maintain a single source of truth for programs in flight across seven functions and identify at-risk work.
  • Identify dependency conflicts early and drive trade-offs to decisions.
  • Run program reviews and provide concise weekly leadership status updates, including progress, blockers, and decisions needed.
  • Coordinate external parties, including clients, Centers of Excellence, TPAs, and vendors.
  • Run quarterly and annual planning, roadmap reviews, departmental offsites and all-hands, and capacity allocation across pods.
  • Own release management and launch readiness, including go/no-go checklists, cutover plans, and stakeholder communications.
  • Define and report delivery-health metrics, and use them to improve planning and execution.
  • Own and maintain lightweight operating tools, such as Jira or similar tools, documentation, and dashboards.
  • Support delivery-related compliance work, including HIPAA, audit and accreditation evidence, change management, and access reviews, in partnership with information security and IT.
  • Mature incident management by defining severity levels and on-call expectations, running blameless retrospectives, and using incident trends to address systemic issues.
  • Run rollouts of AI-native engineering practices across pods, including tool pilots, adoption tracking, and training, in partnership with engineering leads.
  • Run the engineering and product onboarding program, creating ramp plans and tracking time to first production deploy in partnership with engineering leadership.
  • Use AI agents and automation to reduce status-chasing and manual reporting.
  • Build a portfolio view of active programs and establish regular program reviews, status reporting, planning, and release processes.
