About The Position

Signature Aviation is seeking a Technical Product Owner to work directly with internal clients, end users, product engineering, technology operations, and other product teams. This role involves collaborating closely with Product Teams across Signature Aviation Technology to develop cross-functional solutions. The Technical Product Owner will partner with the Product Engineering Manager, SCRUM master, and Engineering team to ensure the quality and timely delivery of application solutions. Responsibilities include performing testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and documentation of various applications. The role requires managing the backlog, prioritizing features, and communicating business value and expectations to the development team and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills, and will collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to understand their needs, challenges, and objectives. This position involves evaluating business requirements to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, analyzing data and processes to uncover insights, and working closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and designs. The Technical Product Owner will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating clear communication and understanding, and presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels. Staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies is crucial, as is proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement. The role defines the vision, scope, and roadmap of the assigned solution, supervises all stages of product development, creates user stories, and tracks and assesses product progress. Reducing uncertainty through communication with various stakeholders, collaborating with SCRUM teams to ensure adherence to Agile principles, and validating business requirements against project scope are key functions. The Technical Product Owner will monitor and report product status, manage the product backlog to align with the roadmap, and develop and communicate the product goal. Engaging in customer journey mapping, inspecting and evaluating product progress, gathering feedback, and adapting the product backlog are essential. Advocating for the product vision, communicating trade-offs, and optimizing outcomes are also part of the role. The Technical Product Owner will work with SCRUM teams to define sprint goals and manage sprint content, and support Change Management and Training teams by providing content for user manuals and process guides. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are required, along with participation in SCRUM ceremonies and serving as the primary link between stakeholders and teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or Information Technology, or six (6+) years of equivalent work experience.
At least 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.
Strong communication skills, as well as the ability to engage, persuade, and inspire partners and stakeholders at a functional level to achieve cooperation and alignment.
Ability to maintain clarity around the product vision despite the changing and fast-paced nature of Agile product development.
Experience with eCommerce or other customer-facing internet properties.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with business process mapping and re-engineering.
Understanding of SCRUM framework, roles, ceremonies, artifacts, and tools.
Excellent organizational skills, individual initiative, and personal accountability.
Track record of delivering products or services in collaboration with engineering teams, as well as an understanding of prototyping, iterative development, and Agile concepts.
Proactive, self-starter with exposure to project management techniques and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
Proven track record of effectively driving end-to-end delivery of data and intelligence solutions, covering a wide range of methods such as dashboards, APIs, real-time alerts, and so on.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in product management software, project management software, and documentation tools.
Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma concepts and process.

Nice To Haves

Certified SCRUM Master or Certified Product Owner certification is a plus.
Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or relevant technical certifications is a plus.
PMP Certification is a plus.

Monitor and report product status to internal clients.
Manage the product backlog to align with the strategic direction outlined in the product roadmap.
Develop and communicate the product goal, create and clearly order product backlog items to maximize business value in collaboration with internal clients and SCRUM teams.
Engage in customer (guest) journey mapping exercises to create a shared vision for the guest experience.
Inspect and evaluate product progress through each iteration, gather feedback, and adapt the product backlog based on feedback.
Advocate for the product vision when features or changes could distract from the roadmap, communicate trade-offs to management and stakeholders, and optimize the potential for desired outcomes.
Effectively manage the product roadmap and backlog by understanding and anticipating client needs.
Work with SCRUM teams to define a sprint goal, determine items to include in the sprint, and discuss how the team will complete the chosen work.
Support Change Management and Training teams by providing content for user manuals and process guides.
Participate in SCRUM ceremonies.
Serve as the primary communicator and link between stakeholders and teams, ensuring stakeholder buy-in on major decisions and strategies, as well as clear instructions and deliverables for developers.
Display an understanding of existing business processes and explore process improvement opportunities.
