About The Position

Utah First Credit Union is seeking a technically fluent, business-minded Technical Product Owner for its Information Technology team. This full-time, on-site position is based at the corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, and works 40 hours per week. The role reports directly to the SVP, Information Technology. The Technical Product Owner defines and executes product strategy for Utah First's core and digital banking platform, with primary ownership of the credit union's Jack Henry Platform instance, including Symitar, Banno, and related applications. Serving as a bridge between business strategy and technical execution, the role translates organizational priorities into roadmaps, specifications, and measurable outcomes while balancing innovation with reliability, scalability, security, and regulatory expectations. The position works across business units, internal technology and engineering teams, and third-party vendors to turn business objectives into prioritized technical work. It requires strong technical judgment and an understanding of software development, architecture, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines, but is not a production software engineering position. Coding proficiency is beneficial but production coding is not required. The successful candidate will work independently in a lean environment and build productive partnerships to sustain progress.

  • Ability to work independently as a resourceful self-starter, learn quickly, make sound decisions, and maintain progress in a lean environment with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to understand software development and technical systems well enough to challenge assumptions, assess tradeoffs, and guide technical decisions.
