Technical Product Manager

Faro AI Inc.
•$162,000 - $191,000•Hybrid

About The Position

As a Technical Product Manager at Faro Health, you will bridge customers, partners, and engineering teams. You will own the platform and integration strategy, driving scalable architecture, reliable data exchange, and interoperable solutions that connect clinical systems and support intelligent trial design. You will translate customer and partner technical requirements into engineering deliverables, define integration roadmaps, and ensure the platform and data services enable seamless, secure, and compliant collaboration across the clinical trial ecosystem. The role covers integration and AI workflow strategy from discovery through design, testing, and launch. You will work hands-on with Python, APIs, and other technical tools to investigate problems, prototype solutions, and validate data flows. You will collaborate across Engineering, Data Science, Product Design, and Customer Strategy; set standards and documentation for platform users; evaluate ecosystem opportunities; and define measures of platform, integration, and AI workflow success. The role may require occasional East Coast working hours to accommodate customers in Europe and Asia. Faro is a mission-driven company focused on helping life sciences companies design optimal clinical trials. The position is open to current California residents only. Faro describes its workplace as hybrid: San Diego employees work from home and the headquarters, while remote employees work from home and visit the main office for group events and in-person collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of product management experience, including at least 2 years focused on platforms, integrations, or technical products.
  • Experience managing external integrations or platform ecosystems in life sciences.
  • Understanding of data architecture, APIs, system integrations, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python, and ability to prototype integrations, inspect data, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Practical experience building or managing integrations for applications powered by large language models, including tool calling, structured outputs, and workflow orchestration.
  • Understanding of retrieval augmented generation, embeddings, and vector search, including the effects of source data quality, access permissions, and traceability.
  • Ability to define AI integration evaluation criteria, including task completion, tool execution reliability, failure handling, latency, and cost.
  • Understanding of AI integration risks and controls, including prompt injection, sensitive data exposure, tool permissions, auditability, and human oversight.
  • Experience with AI evaluation and observability tools.
  • SQL knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate complex user needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to bridge business and engineering domains and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Availability to work East Coast hours occasionally and adjust schedules as needed for customers in Europe and Asia.
  • Must be a current California resident.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Hands-on experience prototyping or implementing an MCP client or server.
  • Experience integrating a product using external APIs to produce one-off reports.
  • Experience with regulated data environments, including HIPAA or GxP.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the platform and integration roadmap to improve scalability and interoperability.
  • Translate customer, partner, clinical, and operational needs into detailed product and integration specifications.
  • Act as a solution consultant by designing, prototyping, and validating integrations using Python, APIs, and other technical tools.
  • Manage integrations end to end, from discovery and design through testing and launch, ensuring value, reliability, and compliance.
  • Define requirements for connecting Faro’s AI capabilities with customer systems, external data sources, and tools through APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Partner with Engineering and Data Science to establish reusable AI workflows, including tool interfaces, structured inputs and outputs, data contracts, error handling, and human approval steps.
  • Define authentication, authorization, source traceability, and auditability requirements for secure and traceable AI interactions.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, Product Design, and Customer Strategy on end-to-end customer strategies that align with and scale across the platform.
  • Define platform standards, documentation, and tools for internal teams and external partners.
  • Evaluate and prioritize clinical-trial-system integrations, distinguishing customer-specific requests from reusable platform opportunities.
  • Define KPIs for platform performance, integration reliability, adoption, ecosystem growth, and AI workflow completion, reliability, latency, and cost.
  • Track interoperability standards such as CDISC, HL7 FHIR, and ODM, as well as emerging AI integration protocols, and assess their relevance to the roadmap.
  • Occasionally work East Coast hours to accommodate customers in Europe and Asia.
