About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Technical Product Manager (Integrated Solutions) to drive technical requirements, market adoption, and revenue growth for its Integrated Solutions portfolio. The role translates complex defense requirements into turnkey solutions, system-level specifications, and operator experiences. It focuses on integrating Silvus communications technology and existing radios with third-party systems, rather than physical radio-chassis development. The role owns technical requirements, end-to-end performance specifications, and user experience for integrated configurations, including throughput KPIs, latency constraints, link-margin budgets, and system-level trade-offs. The position reports to the Director of Product Management. It is based at Silvus Technologies’ Engineering and R&D Office in Irvine, California, with a hybrid schedule that includes Irvine office days Monday through Wednesday and a day at Motorola Solutions’ West Los Angeles headquarters on Thursday. Depending on the candidate’s U.S. location, the role may be 100% remote, with travel to support field testing, customer integrations and meetings, and Silvus offices. The posting gives travel expectations of up to 25% in the role responsibilities and 25–50% elsewhere. The role manages technical execution and lifecycle activities for integrated solutions such as PRISM, NEXUS, and AIRS, from concept and system-level testing through prototype validation and operational deployment. It works across engineering, R&D, operations, sales, business development, and applications engineering, and supports defense integrators and system engineers in validating integrations for terrestrial, aerial, and maritime platforms. The position may also perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, RF Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of technical product management or systems engineering experience in the defense, aerospace, or wireless communications industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of wireless communications, RF systems, signal processing, software-defined radios (SDRs), mesh networking, or electromagnetic spectrum operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate high-level military or tactical use cases into structured technical requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence engineering, operations, and sales teams without direct authority to meet rigid release dates.
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship, due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test is required.
  • Ability to travel; the posting specifies up to 25% in the responsibilities and 25–50% in the Travel Requirements section.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for demonstrations and testing, bend and reach, kneel or squat, and walk or move in labs.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with tactical systems integration, vehicle integration, airborne payloads, marine RF installations, or multi-antenna co-location challenges.
  • Strong systems-level thinking and ability to evaluate physical hardware trade-offs alongside firmware and software constraints.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or an MBA from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices and managing complex backlogs using tools such as Jira.

Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level mission capabilities into detailed software user stories and hardware or sensor configurations.
  • Define end-to-end performance specifications and system-level trade-offs for Integrated Solutions, including PRISM, AIRS, and NEXUS.
  • Engage customers to evolve Integrated Solutions for existing customers and expand market reach.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate existing radios and modules into turnkey systems.
  • Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cadences for integrated-solution features, platform firmware builds, and turnkey system updates.
  • Analyze customer feature requests, assess engineering timelines, and set scope boundaries to balance schedule constraints with field expectations.
  • Oversee the technical lifecycle and release schedules of current and future integrated solutions, from concept through testing, prototype validation, and operational deployment.
  • Support product adoption and work with Sales to generate interest and revenue growth; capture customer and field feedback for product updates.
  • Coordinate R&D, engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams to align execution with business and portfolio strategy, target costs, and delivery timelines.
  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, and Applications Engineering to turn operator feedback, program-office specifications, and competitive intelligence into feature priorities.
  • Support defense integrators and system engineers in validating plug-and-play integrations on terrestrial, aerial, and maritime platforms.
  • Travel to support field testing, customer integrations, and customer meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
