About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Technical Product Manager (Integrated Solutions) to drive technical requirements, market adoption, and revenue growth for its Integrated Solutions portfolio. The role translates complex defense requirements into turnkey solutions, system-level specifications, and operator experiences. It focuses on integrating Silvus communications technology and existing radios with third-party systems into products such as PRISM, NEXUS, and AIRS, rather than on development of the core radio chassis. The position owns technical requirements, end-to-end performance specifications, and user experience for integrated configurations, including throughput KPIs, latency constraints, link-margin budgets, and system-level trade-offs. The Technical Product Manager works across product management, engineering, sales, business development, applications engineering, operations, and defense integrators. Responsibilities span requirements engineering, integrated product lifecycle and release management, customer feedback, agile backlog management, technical trade-off analysis, and support for integration and validation on terrestrial, aerial, and maritime platforms. The role reports to the Director of Product Management. The position is associated with Silvus Technologies’ engineering and R&D office in Irvine, California, with a stated hybrid schedule involving Irvine and the West Los Angeles headquarters. It may be 100% remote depending on the location of a U.S.-based candidate. Travel is required to support field testing, customer integrations, meetings, and office visits. Work environments include offices, trade shows, and outdoor field demonstrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, RF Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of technical product management or systems engineering experience in the defense, aerospace, or wireless communications industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of wireless communications, RF systems, signal processing, software-defined radios, mesh networking, or electromagnetic spectrum operations.
  • Ability to translate high-level military or tactical use cases into structured technical requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence engineering, operations, and sales teams without direct authority to meet rigid release dates.
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship, due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test is required for employment.
  • Ability to travel; the role description specifies travel of up to 25% in one section and 25–50% in another.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. for demonstrations and testing.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, or squat, and walk or move around laboratories.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with tactical systems integration, vehicle integration, airborne payloads, marine RF installations, or multi-antenna co-location challenges.
  • Strong systems-level thinking and ability to assess physical hardware trade-offs alongside firmware and software constraints.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or an MBA from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices and managing complex backlogs using tools such as Jira.

Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level mission capabilities into detailed software user stories and hardware or sensor configurations.
  • Define end-to-end performance specifications and system-level trade-offs for integrated solutions such as PRISM, AIRS, and NEXUS.
  • Engage customers to evolve Integrated Solutions and identify opportunities to expand market reach.
  • Work with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate existing radios and modules into turnkey systems.
  • Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cadences for integrated-solution features, firmware builds, and turnkey system updates.
  • Evaluate customer feature requests, engineering timelines, and scope boundaries to balance schedule constraints with field expectations.
  • Oversee integrated-solution technical lifecycles and release schedules from concept through system testing, prototype validation, and operational deployment.
  • Support product adoption and collaborate with sales to generate interest and revenue growth; capture customer and field feedback for product updates.
  • Coordinate R&D, engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams to align execution with business strategy, target costs, and delivery timelines.
  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, and Applications Engineering to turn operator feedback, program-office specifications, and competitive intelligence into feature priorities.
  • Support defense integrators and system engineers in validating plug-and-play integrations on terrestrial, aerial, and maritime platforms.
  • Travel to support field testing, customer integrations, and customer meetings; perform other related duties as assigned.
