About The Position

Telnyx is seeking a highly technical Product Manager to own how developers discover, build on, and grow with its global infrastructure platform, which includes communications, AI inference, GPUs, edge compute, databases, and real-time applications. The role focuses on making the platform easier for developers to understand, build applications with, and bring into production. The Product Manager leads six engineers across Developer Relations and Product-Led Growth: three DevRel engineers focused on sample applications, open source, technical content, and demos, and three PLG engineers focused on activation, AI agents and automation, self-service conversion, and expansion. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and combines technical leadership with hands-on product and engineering work. The role owns developer applications and resources, product-led growth, improvements to the developer experience, AI-native growth systems, and the end-to-end developer journey from discovery and experimentation through production usage and revenue. Success is measured by developer-led revenue, activated developers, production applications, self-service conversion, usage expansion, retention, reference-application adoption, content-driven acquisition, and time to a working application. This is a builder-focused role rather than a professional management position.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering background, including the ability to build and debug real applications, work with APIs, read code, and understand complex infrastructure.
  • Experience as a Technical Product Manager, founding engineer, technical founder, or in a similar role with substantial personal responsibility for shipping software.
  • Exceptional product judgment, particularly concerning developer tools, APIs, documentation, onboarding, and usability.
  • Familiarity with AI infrastructure, LLMs, inference, cloud platforms, real-time systems, or developer infrastructure.
  • Understanding of product-led growth, including developer acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, and monetization.
  • Ability to work with AI coding agents, automation frameworks, product analytics, and modern developer tooling.
  • Strong technical communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technologies clearly and recognize useful demonstrations and reference applications.
  • Ability to lead a small technical team while remaining deeply involved in the work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a developer infrastructure company.
  • Personal experience building and growing something developers love; the posting states this is more important than experience at a developer infrastructure company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Developer Relations team in building production-quality sample applications, integrations, templates, and reference implementations on Telnyx; publish, maintain, and make them easy to deploy and extend.
  • Turn applications into technical content, live demos, and developer distribution.
  • Own the product-led growth operation that moves developers from signup to meaningful usage and revenue.
  • Use product telemetry, behavioral signals, AI agents, and human intervention to identify friction, accelerate onboarding, improve conversion, and expand self-service usage.
  • Work hands-on with APIs, SDKs, documentation, and infrastructure, collaborating with product engineering to identify and resolve usability issues.
  • Use reference applications to continuously test whether Telnyx products are ready for developers.
  • Work with Growth Engineering and RevOps to develop automated workflows for developer acquisition, onboarding, account intelligence, technical assistance, and expansion.
  • Connect the developer journey from application discovery and experimentation through successful production use, revenue, product feedback, and future product development.
  • Lead a team of six technical engineers while remaining deeply involved in the work.
  • Grow developer-led revenue and improve activation, production deployment, conversion, usage expansion, retention, reference-application adoption, content-driven acquisition, and time to a working application.
