About The Position

Ladders is seeking a Technical Product Manager to join their team. The mission is to "lead the leaders" among their 10 million members. The Product Manager will act as a strategic client advocate, working with leadership and project teams to deliver new functionality. They will lead one of two product teams, focusing on building B2B or consumer-facing web and mobile web products and features for theladders.com, impacting millions of professionals. The tech stack may include SQL, programming languages (Python, Java, or Ruby), BI Software (Looker, Tableau), and workflow management tools (JIRA).

Requirements

  • Technical background, potentially as a former software engineer who transitioned to product management.
  • Engineering or scientific background, or experience as a programmer in a commercial setting, preferably in a tech or small to medium-sized company.
  • Technical enough to ask engineers insightful questions about architecture and product decisions.
  • Approximately two years of experience as a software engineer and two+ years as a product manager.
  • PM goals include knowledge of users, customers, data, industry, company, and product operations.
  • Process skills and techniques include discovery, optimization, delivery, and development.
  • People skills include comfort with collaboration, stakeholder management, evangelism, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Ship products that help users thrive, and iterate and test for success.
  • Lead collaborative product teams of engineers, PMs, design, sales, and marketing.
  • Own and deliver on OKRs that are meaningful to users and the company.
  • Lead strategy as a full life-cycle Product Manager, including client interaction and ticket management in Jira.
  • Make decisions with partial information, acting as a product SME who knows their client.
  • Ask clients and engineers questions to understand needs and feasibility.
  • Advocate for new features using qualitative and quantitative reasoning.
  • Ensure product and team success by writing QA plans or investigating user frustrations.
  • Turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans.
