About The Position

FutureFit AI is seeking a Technical Product Manager (TPM) — Talent Journey to own the end-to-end experience of individuals seeking work, training, or career advancement through their AI-powered platform. This role is not a traditional product management position; it requires an active builder who can function as part product manager, part project manager, part prototyper, and part researcher, with an increasing focus on AI engineering. The TPM will be responsible for managing AI agents, shipping working prototypes with AI tooling, and significantly reducing the time from identifying a customer problem to delivering a solution. The ideal candidate will have a background in areas like workforce counseling, case management, research, UX design, data analysis, or experience at a workforce tech startup, with a strong understanding of the market, a commitment to building with AI and speed, and a focus on the user. The TPM will own the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery quality for several key areas: the Talent Portal (onboarding, profile-building, training discovery, job matching, progress tracking), the AI Coach (defining its knowledge, nudges, and improvement through user profiling), the Career Passport (longitudinal profile capturing skills, credentials, and outcomes), Training & Job Matching Surfaces (search, recommendation, and eligibility features), and Talent-Side Data & AI Use Cases (identifying LLM, recommender, and signal-capture opportunities). The role emphasizes working AI-natively by using AI agents and LLM tooling for tasks like prototyping, test plan generation, and synthesizing customer interviews, operating independently to compress development cycles, and managing AI fleets effectively. Building with talent at the center involves continuous customer research, rapid prototyping using AI and low-code methods, structured discovery sessions, and staying current on workforce development policy. The TPM will translate technical decisions into precise tickets, write clear PRDs and specs, and own the multi-quarter roadmap, contributing to quarterly strategy discussions and driving market analysis. Cross-functional partnership is key, working closely with engineering, data, customer success, and go-to-market teams to ensure a cohesive user experience and support contract renewals. The TPM must prioritize job seeker privacy and trust in all data design decisions.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the workforce development market, including how workforce agencies operate, job seeker experiences with employment and training systems, and the policy environment (WIOA, Workforce Pell, ETPL).
  • AI-native proficiency: already using LLMs, agents, and AI-assisted tools as a primary work layer, with a working knowledge of different models and their capabilities/limitations.
  • Proven ability to build and act as a player-coach, generating artifacts and compressing the cycle from problem to solution.
  • Technical fluency, especially in data: ability to pull data from BI tools, leverage Claude Code for system architecture understanding, engage in ADR conversations, and translate technical constraints into product decisions.
  • Precise writing skills for PRDs, specs, and tickets that are immediately executable with minimal back-and-forth.
  • Strong customer research skills: ability to run effective interviews, synthesize qualitative signals into testable hypotheses, and differentiate user statements from user needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in workforce development, adult education, human services, or labor market programs as a practitioner, researcher, or technologist.
  • Background in UX, service design, or conversation design, particularly for populations with varied digital literacy.
  • Familiarity with LER standards, ILR, or open skills frameworks (e.g., ONET, Lightcast).
  • Prior product, project management, or delivery ownership in a B2G or B2B2C SaaS environment.
  • A background that isn’t traditional PM may be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Operate independently to run discovery, generate design options, write specs, draft tickets, and validate with users in a compressed cycle.
  • Manage fleets of AI agents and understand when to involve human engineering resources.
  • Set the standard for AI-native product workflows within the team.
  • Conduct continuous, lightweight customer research and synthesize findings into problem statements and design hypotheses.
  • Prototype rapidly using AI tooling, no-code/low-code methods, and collaborative sessions with engineering.
  • Run structured discovery sessions to understand job seeker needs.
  • Stay current on workforce development policy, WIOA service delivery, Workforce Pell, and ETPL dynamics.
  • Translate architecture decision records (ADRs) and engineering context into precisely scoped tickets.
  • Write PRDs and specs with clear acceptance criteria, edge cases, data requirements, and a testable definition of done.
  • Own the multi-quarter roadmap for the Talent Journey domain, connecting feature decisions to the company's flywheel.
  • Contribute to quarterly product strategy discussions, representing the job seeker perspective.
  • Translate company strategy into a coherent sequencing plan for the domain.
  • Drive competitor and market analysis for job seeker-facing workforce technology.
  • Define the user profiling strategy for the AI Coach.
  • Set the evaluation framework for AI Coach quality and create feedback loops for improvement.
  • Identify and prioritize Career Passport data capture opportunities.
  • Ensure job seeker privacy and trust are central to all data design decisions.
  • Be the product voice for job seekers in all planning and prioritization conversations.
  • Partner with the engineering lead from ADR to sprint planning.
  • Support the data team on job seeker-side analytics.
  • Manage launch readiness end-to-end within the domain.
  • Partner with Customer Success and GTM to enable customers with the job seeker product narrative.

  • Compensation reviewed regularly and adjusted to reflect market conditions and cost of living.
