About The Position

Cisco is seeking a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer and Technical Leader to serve as the primary technical authority for a new AI infrastructure initiative. The role bridges engineering development and customer-facing deployment, and owns the technical narrative while validating the end-to-end lifecycle of solutions for enterprise environments. The role translates field feedback and adoption blockers into technical requirements, influences the product roadmap, and helps prepare technology for global scale. The position is part of a specialized team building and scaling AI infrastructure solutions for distributed token generation and consumption across on-premises, Neo/Sovereign Cloud, and public cloud environments. The team works with startup-like agility to turn new technology into deployable, enterprise-grade solutions. The role is hybrid, based in San Jose or New York, and requires two days in the office.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of professional experience, or a master’s degree and 6 years of professional experience.
At least 4 years of experience in technical marketing, solutions architecture, systems engineering, or platform/site reliability engineering.
Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters in production or production-like environments, including container orchestration, networking, and storage integrations.
Working knowledge of Linux and infrastructure fundamentals, including networking, storage, access controls, and observability.
Experience developing infrastructure automation using scripting languages such as Python or Go, or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Experience creating and delivering technical presentations or documentation for technical audiences, such as white papers, deployment guides, or architectural design reviews.
Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and apply them to practical lab or customer scenarios.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, specifically managing GPU clusters, model training pipelines, or AI-workload placement within Kubernetes.
Familiarity with GPU monitoring, resource sharing, or performance evaluation.
Experience with public or private cloud platforms, including multi-tenancy, identity and access management, and observability frameworks.
Operational experience with SRE methodologies, including incident response, capacity planning, and performance benchmarking.
Experience working in agile, rapid-growth environments where product requirements and technical priorities evolve continuously.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering and product management to identify product gaps, resolve adoption blockers, and define technical readiness criteria.
Create technical assets, including white papers, deployment guides, demonstration videos, and workshops, for internal field teams and external partners.
Represent the product and technical strategy in customer workshops, executive briefings, and strategic industry forums.
Validate the end-to-end lifecycle of AI infrastructure solutions for real-world enterprise environments.
Translate field feedback and adoption blockers into actionable technical requirements and influence the product roadmap.
