About The Position
The Technical Instructor is based at GMF Steel Group’s headquarters in Lakeland, Florida, and leads the Apprenticeship and Welding programs. The instructor assesses workforce capabilities, identifies skill gaps, and implements targeted training to support employee development and organizational needs. The role involves fostering an engaging learning environment, maintaining an appropriate balance of discipline, and teaching students. The instructor is expected to demonstrate reliability, responsibility, independence, and initiative.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- At least 5 years of teaching or training experience.
- At least 5 years of welding experience.

- Bachelor’s degree.
- Bilingual.
Responsibilities
- Educate and train students to develop their skills as proficient journeymen and welders.
- Provide administrative support for course logistics, including scheduling and curriculum development.
- Meet established goals related to student performance.
- Work with the Talent Development Manager to coordinate maintenance of student performance profiles, audit records, and attendance records.
- Maintain a safe instructional environment.
- Complete documentation, maintain records, and assist in monitoring essential data, including industry-recognized certifications.
- Use computer databases to review student test scores, complete lesson plans, and log attendance.
