Mohawk College is undertaking a major digital transformation through the Banner Business Transformation Project, reimagining its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Banner, and related processes to enhance the student, faculty, and staff experience. The Technical Instructional Designer will be a key contributor to this initiative, designing dynamic, user-centric learning experiences that support learning and change adoption across the institution. Working in close partnership with the Change Management team, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams, the incumbent will lead the creation of accessible, multi-modal training content tailored to the needs of diverse audiences. Learning solutions may include e-learning modules, interactive simulations, job aids, end-user and superuser guides, instructional videos, and trainer materials designed for virtual, hybrid, in-person, and self-directed learning environments. A critical component of this role is the development of train-the-trainer programs, equipping SMEs to confidently deliver effective, consistent training during and after implementation. Drawing on adult learning theory, instructional design best practices, and a deep understanding of educational technologies and content authoring tools, the Technical Instructional Designer will transform complex technical concepts and business processes into accessible, engaging, and results-driven learning experiences. They will also develop evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of the training to ensure learners have the knowledge and skills required for full adoption of the new ERP system.
