About The Position

KHAITE is seeking a Technical Design, Production, RTW Intern for the Spring semester. The role is based at the company’s New York City headquarters and reports to the Director, Technical Design, Production, RTW. This internship is unpaid and for college credit only. The intern will support technical design and production work for ready-to-wear woven garments, including maintaining technical documentation, assisting with sample and fit processes, tracking production, reviewing garment quality, and organizing materials.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program; preferably in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Technical Design, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of garment construction, fit, and sewing techniques, with a particular interest in woven materials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Suite, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing business conditions.
• Keen interest in fashion and eagerness to immerse oneself in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical sketches, spec sheets, and tech packs for RTW woven garments.
• Assist with sample specking.
• Prepare samples for fit sessions, document notes, and update measurements and fit comments.
• Work with the Production team to track sample and production status and support timely deliveries and quality standards.
• Review garment construction and inspect samples for technical accuracy and quality compliance.
• Participate in production meetings and contribute ideas.
• Assist with fabric and trim testing to assess quality, durability, and suitability for each style.
• Organize and maintain production and technical design materials, samples, and archives.
• Assist with sample pickups and pattern drop-offs or pickups at local factories or grading rooms.
