About The Position

WPHL-TV, part of Nexstar Media Group and the CW Network, offers an internship in its live broadcasting department. This onsite position is based at WPHL-TV in Philadelphia, and interns must provide their own transportation. Interns must work 15–20 hours per week and complete 180 hours for the program. The weekly schedule is determined by the student and department manager. Many hours will take place during live broadcasting and studio production hours, 5 a.m.–12 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interns will also be exposed to other areas of the business, including Sales, News, and Creative Services.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited broadcasting or film program at a college, university, or technical school.
• Must be able to work 15–20 hours per week for a total of 180 program hours.
• Must provide own transportation to the onsite location in Philadelphia.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in broadcast television or a related field.
• Experience with automated control room applications.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with live and studio productions.
• Provide quality support services to the Engineering, News, Production, Creative Services, and Sales departments.
• Assist with ENG camera shoots.
• Complete a 500-word summary about the internship experience.
