Technical Consultant - ServiceNow

The Whole GroupMissoula, MT

About The Position

At The Whole Group, we are redefining what consulting looks like in an AI-powered world. Our mission is clear: drive customer and revenue transformation on ServiceNow by leveraging the next generation of agentic workflows and AI-powered enterprise solutions. We operate on a next-generation consulting model—one that's built to break traditional norms and accelerate time to value. By partnering closely with ServiceNow’s leading platform and product teams, we design the fastest, most assured delivery models to generate real, measurable outcomes and strategic impact for modern, forward-thinking organizations. We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented ServiceNow Technical Consultant to deliver high-quality solutions on the ServiceNow platform. As a key member of our delivery team, you will configure, customize, and extend ServiceNow applications across multiple business domains — working closely with architects, project managers, and client stakeholders to turn strategy into working software. At TWG, TCs are expected to own their sprint commitments, communicate proactively on blockers, and deliver clean, maintainable work without needing to be chased. You bring discipline and quality to every story you close.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and configuration experience on enterprise-scale projects.
  • Strong command of ServiceNow core architecture, data model, and scripting (JavaScript, Glide API, HTML/CSS).
  • Experience with ServiceNow Studio, Flow Designer, App Engine Studio, UI Builder, and Service Portal development.
  • Integration experience: REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth2, SAML SSO, and MID Server architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills — you identify root causes, not just symptoms.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active AI tool adoption — you use AI in your daily workflow to move faster and produce better work.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist in at least one relevant module (CSM, SOM, FSM, FSO, SPO, SLO, or APO).

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to ITIL principles and service management frameworks.
  • Consulting or enterprise client experience.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (Git, Jenkins, ATF, Jira).
  • Experience with ServiceNow Agentic AI capabilities or ISV partner solutions (Logik.AI, Tenon).

Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications including CSM, SOM, FSM, SPO, SLO, FSO, and APO.
  • Deliver sprint work with precision and timeliness — meeting story acceptance criteria and maintaining accurate task status throughout.
  • Develop and maintain server-side and client-side scripts: business rules, client scripts, UI actions, policies, workflows, and catalog items.
  • Design and build integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Servers, and OAuth2/SAML.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies — stand-ups, planning, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Raise blockers, risks, and scope concerns early. Don't wait for the next stand-up.
  • Support QA and UAT — unit testing, defect resolution, and documentation of technical decisions.
  • Apply AI tools across the build lifecycle to improve velocity, documentation quality, and code consistency.
