About The Position

The Catawba Nation Gaming Commission is the primary regulator for tribal gaming at Catawba Two Kings Casino. The Technical Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that all gaming-related technical systems, software, and equipment operate in full compliance with the Catawba Nation Gaming Ordinance, Tribal-State Compact, internal controls, and applicable federal regulations. This position focuses on electronic gaming systems and machines, video games, sports book, table games equipment and software integrity.

Requirements

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in gaming systems and machines, video games, sports books, table games equipment and software, IT, software management, or regulatory compliance within a gaming or highly regulated environment.
High School Diploma is required.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must undergo a Criminal Background Investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license as required by the Catawba Nation Gaming Commission.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Strong understanding of electronic gaming systems, software controls, and databases.
Knowledge of NIGC Internal controls, Tribal-State Compact, tribal gaming regulations, and Ordinance.
Ability to analyze technical data, logs, and system configurations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be knowledgeable about modern methods of surveillance and security, fire safety procedures, investigative techniques, and handling evidence.
Working knowledge of Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Tribal Gaming Commission Internal Controls, NIGC regulations, and Casino Policies and Procedure standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Ability to perform investigations using computer software and data analytics.
Ability to perform assigned job duties in highly interruptive conditions under constant time pressures.
Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
Ability to analyze and interpret numerical data, including statistical information, and produce organized and clear reports.
Maintain professional working relationships with gaming vendors, gaming operation staff, and patrons.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the gaming technology industry with advanced technical skills is highly preferred.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and enforce compliance with Catawba Gaming Ordinance, Gaming Commission regulations, Tribal-State Compact, and internal controls requirements related to gaming technology.
Ensure gaming devices, systems, and software meet certification and approval requirements prior to floor placement.
Review and approve technical submissions, system modifications, and software updates.
Conduct routine and unannounced inspections of gaming devices, networks, and related equipment.
Coordinate shipping, receiving, and tracking of gaming devices, components, and related equipment.
Conduct technical testing of gaming devices, table game equipment, and associated items.
Test and verify sports book systems and equipment for compliance, functionality, and integrity.
Review and process slot-related work orders in coordination with the slots department.
Track gaming device movements, conversions, and component changes.
Maintain oversight of software inventory.
Verify software version control, seals, access logs, and configuration settings.
Identify, document, and investigate technical irregularities, malfunctions, or potential violations.
Assist in incident response related to system failures, data breaches, or suspected tampering.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, approvals, and corrective actions.
Work collaboratively with Gaming Commission Staff, Casino departments (slots, table games, IT), vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Complete and maintain trackers, logs, and task documentation to ensure accountability and regulatory compliance.
Assist with the evaluation of new gaming technologies and emerging systems.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
