Technical Claim Manager-Miscellaneous Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions (E&O)
About The Position
Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Claim Manager focused on Miscellaneous Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions (E&O) matters to join their growing team. This role involves proactively handling professional liability claims, primarily miscellaneous professional liability litigation, including Errors and Omissions/E&O and Architects & Engineers/A&E, to achieve optimum payout results by resolving claims fairly, expeditiously, and economically. The position requires assessing and analyzing coverage issues, completing timely investigations, posting appropriate reserves, and pursuing risk transfer opportunities. The Technical Claim Manager will also resolve claims in a timely manner, attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as warranted.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD)
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position directly handling claims or as an attorney with experience in litigation
- Strong background in Miscellaneous Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions (E&O) claims required
- Meaningful experience handling professional liability claims with significant exposure under professional liability policies.
- Superior working knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures impacting the handling and value of claims
- Proactive investigation, risk transfer, claim handling, attorney management, and claims resolution are essential.
- Superior writing and communication skills to work effectively with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and upper management
Responsibilities
- Proactively handle professional liability claims primarily involving miscellaneous professional liability litigation, including Errors and Omissions/E&O and Architects & Engineers/A&E to achieve optimum payout results by resolving claims fairly, expeditiously, and economically.
- Assess and analyze coverage issues on claims, and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation.
- Complete timely investigation of claims and post appropriate reserves.
- Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including dealing with contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
- Resolve claims in timely manner to an effective outcome.
- Travel to and attend mediations, settlement conferences, and/or trials as warranted.
