About The Position
The Technical Business Analyst supports and enhances Venbrook’s business and technology operations through effective management of core insurance systems. This role provides comprehensive responsibility for data, systems, and process analysis within a national insurance brokerage, independently managing requirements documentation, testing initiatives, and Insurance Management System integrity. The Technical Business Analyst works closely with Technical Product Managers in Distribution and Data Engineering to translate business needs into technical solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
- Understanding of insurance industry business operations and terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, pivot tables, and formulas
- Working knowledge of data visualization or query tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SQL
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned tasks independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or system support role required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Agency Management or Policy Systems preferred
- Experience with Jira or other issue-tracking tools preferred
- Experience in data visualization or database querying preferred
Responsibilities
- Manages Help Desk queue, triages incoming requests, and escalates issues to senior analysts or technical teams as appropriate.
- Performs user setup, permissions management, and account maintenance within the Insurance Management System.
- Facilitates the documentation of business and system requirements in collaboration with stakeholders and Technical Product Managers.
- Facilitates testing and validation of reports, system enhancements, and new configurations prior to production deployment.
- Prepares Excel-based reports and data reviews to support business user decision-making and operational visibility.
- Supports ad-hoc reporting requests by gathering, organizing, and formatting data into actionable insights for business users.
- Identifies recurring issues, process gaps, and improvement opportunities; documents findings and proposes solutions for review by senior staff.
- Collaborates with senior analysts and developers to understand system workflows and support the translation of business needs into technical specifications.
- Maintains the integrity and accuracy of the Insurance Management System through ongoing data review and quality checks.
