About The Position

Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. is hiring a Technical Architect Senior to design and lead development of a comprehensive technical platform for fully automated transactional insurance in the single-risk business. The role works with business stakeholders and leaders to understand business problems and opportunities, then designs the technical capabilities and infrastructure needed to deliver solutions. The architect serves as the technical knowledge expert for platform development, testing, and production operations; builds automated performance testing and monitoring to target 98% successful platform operation; establishes SLAs for technical output and delivery; and creates a technical roadmap for new products, enhancements, capabilities, and components. The position also works with external clients on integrations and ensures IT compliance, governance, security, redundancy, and continuity requirements are met. The role may be performed remotely, but the employee must be able to report to the New York, NY office twice per week.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience as an Information Systems Architect, Technical Architect, Software Engineer, Enterprise Systems Architect, or in a closely related position.
Experience managing staff and contracted engineering resources in Agile teams, including technical backlogs, sprint-cycle assignments, and development work aligned to business objectives and delivery timelines.
Insurance domain knowledge and experience leading development of end-to-end automation for single-risk personal and commercial property and casualty insurance.
Experience developing and implementing real-time insurance rating and pricing engines for property and casualty insurance.
Experience designing and operating automated cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines using IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience architecting orchestration of containerized workloads on distributed cloud systems for near-real-time systems.
Experience designing data democratization platforms for internal and external stakeholders, including reporting, actuarial modeling environments, and end-to-end machine learning development and operation.
Experience presenting complex technical and operational concepts to non-technical audiences, including financial decision makers.
Ability to report to the New York, NY office twice per week.

Serve as the technical knowledge expert for team members across platform development, testing, and production operations.
Develop continuous and periodic automated performance testing and monitoring to achieve 98% successful platform operation.
Develop SLAs for technical output and platform delivery to support customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
Develop a technical roadmap to prioritize and expand new products, enhancements, capabilities, and technical components.
Engage external clients to promote and achieve successful integrations with the technical platform.
Ensure execution of IT compliance, governance, security, redundancy, and continuity requirements and best practices.
