About The Position

LH Mercantile is hiring a full-time Team Member to provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and support store operations in a pet-focused retail environment. The role includes helping customers select products and answering questions about pet care, as well as supporting sales initiatives, cash handling, returns, and coupon policies. Team Members stock and rotate products, maintain displays, assist with inventory and receiving, carry-outs, and planogram integrity, and care for live animals by feeding, cleaning, handling, and monitoring them. The position also involves keeping the store clean, organized, and safe for customers, coworkers, and animals, while following sanitation, safety, and regulatory standards. The role requires schedule flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to move and lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service, help customers choose products, answer pet-care questions, and support sales initiatives.
• Greet customers, collect customer data, and follow procedures for cash handling, returns, and coupons.
• Stock shelves, rotate products, maintain displays, and assist with receiving and tracking inventory to support accuracy and product availability.
• Assist with carry-outs and maintain planogram integrity.
• Feed, clean, handle, and monitor live animals to support their health and safety and comply with company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for customers, team members, and animals, following sanitation and safety protocols.
