About The Position

The Team Member performs guest service and cake-frosting duties at a Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery. The role includes greeting guests, helping them choose cakes and celebration items, processing orders, maintaining bakery displays, and preparing and frosting cakes according to company standards. Team Members create a welcoming guest experience while supporting bakery cleanliness, food safety, inventory, and daily production needs. The position requires flexibility across shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. No formal education or previous work experience is required, though prior guest service experience in a bakery, restaurant, or retail store is a plus. Compensation is $20.00 per hour.

Can work in a fast-paced environment and follow precise measurements and timing on a tight production schedule.
Can evaluate products, processes, information, and surroundings for compliance with standards.
Can strictly follow health, safety, and work-environment standards.
Is diligent, organized, and self-motivated; can prioritize workload and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Greet walk-in and phone guests warmly, determine their needs, and follow NbC Sweet Steps of Service.
Maintain product knowledge and explain cake options, sizes, flavors, pricing, promotions, and complementary retail merchandise.
Recommend celebration items such as balloons, candles, and cards.
Process guest orders accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
Invite guests to join the NbC Email Club and Mobile App.
Keep the bakery clean and organized, including sweeping or mopping floors and cleaning counters, windows, and other surfaces.
Replenish retail merchandise and the cake display case.
Assist the Crafter with cake decorations and packaging supplies as needed.
Follow health and safety guidelines, company policies, dress code, and personal hygiene requirements.
Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality and participate in onboarding, retraining, and cross-training when needed.
Follow the proprietary frosting recipe and application methods, meeting productivity goals.
Use measuring instruments, mixers, and pastry bags to frost cakes.
Prioritize pre-orders and frost cakes for walk-in orders as appropriate.
Maintain an adequate supply of samples and frosted cakes in the display case, along with appropriate frosting and cake par levels.
Package, label, store, and rotate frosted cakes properly, and maintain frosting and refrigeration logs.
Monitor frosting supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
Inspect baked and frosted cakes for quality and report issues to management.
Clean, sanitize, and restock the workstation; prepare frosting supplies for the next shift; and wash equipment when the Dishwasher/Utility Employee is absent.
