About The Position

UPMC Hamot is hiring a Team Leader to join its Environmental Services team. The role ensures assigned areas—including patient rooms, public areas, and equipment—are cleaned according to Environmental Services Department procedures. The Team Leader works with and coordinates assigned Environmental Services Aides and temporarily assumes the shift supervisor’s responsibilities when the shift supervisor is absent.

Requirements

• Two years of relevant experience required.
• Act 34 clearance.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Temporarily act in a supervisory capacity and assume the shift supervisor’s responsibilities in the supervisor’s absence.
• Report problems and suggestions to the shift supervisor.
• Communicate with unit personnel and other departments about specific needs required to complete assignments.
• Assign daily work to team members and ensure they work in their assigned areas.
• Ensure subordinates have sufficient supplies and equipment, and report problems to the shift supervisor.
• Inspect assigned areas and ensure they are properly cleaned and in good repair.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations and report problems to the shift supervisor.
• Comply with all hospital and department policies and procedures.
