This role is responsible for training development and facilitation for the Transmission and Distribution Organization, ensuring safety and skills development for field personnel.

Requirements

Minimum of a High School graduate
5 years of training development and/or training experience
Knowledge of OSHA regulations
Experience in identifying and abating hazards, developing and presenting training, conducting personal exposure assessments and developing OSHA Compliance Programs
Experience in working effectively and cooperatively with management, bargaining unit members, and government agencies
Effective team participation and leadership
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
Results oriented, self-motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision
Must be able to successfully obtain tower rescue, climbing, fall protection certifications
Must be able to successfully obtain OSHA 30 Hour certification

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Safety, Engineering, or related field
Transmission and Distribution experience
Knowledge and operations of various Transmission and Distribution support equipment

Responsibilities

Evaluate, apply, and conduct training plans for Transmission and Distribution using professional knowledge and understanding of field work, electricity, and electrical equipment.
Assist in the development, organization, and facilitation of training for field personnel in the Transmission and Distribution Organization.
Prepare training exercises and evaluate and document the progress of each employee involved in the training.
Prepare audio-visual materials used in safety and skills training, including audio tapes, slides, and PowerPoint presentations.
Conduct job safety analyses and perform audits.
Conduct Safety Walks and Learning Opportunities.
Assist in developing performance-based training courses.
Write and review task procedures.
Conduct compliance and refresher training for the Transmission and Distribution Organization according to Company standards.
Perform Apprenticeship training data entry.
Assist in scheduling training for Lines and other Transmission and Distribution departments.
Perform Transmission and Distribution departmental training data entry.
Review existing safety rules and recommend changes.
Attend Transmission and Distribution Safety Council meetings to stay informed of changes and conditions in the field.
Act as a resource and provide training for other Transmission and Distribution departments as requested.
Actively comply with all applicable Company safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Actively comply with all applicable OSHA regulations and Professional Standards organizations.
Conduct new methods training for T&D departments as required.
Facilitate meetings throughout the Company as required.
Keep abreast of developments in the field and exchange information with representatives of other companies and professional organizations and associations.
May participate in call duty.
Respond to duties as assigned during storms and as needed.
Perform any other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by authorized personnel.
