This role is responsible for training development and facilitation for the Transmission and Distribution Organization, ensuring safety and skills development for field personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School graduate
  • 5 years of training development and/or training experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Experience in identifying and abating hazards, developing and presenting training, conducting personal exposure assessments and developing OSHA Compliance Programs
  • Experience in working effectively and cooperatively with management, bargaining unit members, and government agencies
  • Effective team participation and leadership
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Results oriented, self-motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision
  • Must be able to successfully obtain tower rescue, climbing, fall protection certifications
  • Must be able to successfully obtain OSHA 30 Hour certification

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Transmission and Distribution experience
  • Knowledge and operations of various Transmission and Distribution support equipment

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, apply, and conduct training plans for Transmission and Distribution using professional knowledge and understanding of field work, electricity, and electrical equipment.
  • Assist in the development, organization, and facilitation of training for field personnel in the Transmission and Distribution Organization.
  • Prepare training exercises and evaluate and document the progress of each employee involved in the training.
  • Prepare audio-visual materials used in safety and skills training, including audio tapes, slides, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Conduct job safety analyses and perform audits.
  • Conduct Safety Walks and Learning Opportunities.
  • Assist in developing performance-based training courses.
  • Write and review task procedures.
  • Conduct compliance and refresher training for the Transmission and Distribution Organization according to Company standards.
  • Perform Apprenticeship training data entry.
  • Assist in scheduling training for Lines and other Transmission and Distribution departments.
  • Perform Transmission and Distribution departmental training data entry.
  • Review existing safety rules and recommend changes.
  • Attend Transmission and Distribution Safety Council meetings to stay informed of changes and conditions in the field.
  • Act as a resource and provide training for other Transmission and Distribution departments as requested.
  • Actively comply with all applicable Company safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Actively comply with all applicable OSHA regulations and Professional Standards organizations.
  • Conduct new methods training for T&D departments as required.
  • Facilitate meetings throughout the Company as required.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field and exchange information with representatives of other companies and professional organizations and associations.
  • May participate in call duty.
  • Respond to duties as assigned during storms and as needed.
  • Perform any other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by authorized personnel.
