About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Team Leader Assembly - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 2:15pm to 10:45pm. The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 Plus $2.00 Shift Differential per hour. This position will be responsible for assigning work, following schedule, work completed on schedule, resolving discrepancies, training employees, troubleshooting with technicians. This individual will serve as the link between production floor, Quality and Engineering functions. Working lead will also assemble and test assemblies, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product line. Occasionally work on uncommon assemblies where standard or recognizable methods and processes may not be available. Support and comply with Eaton Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies. Assist operators as required. Work as a liaison between Assembly, Inspection, Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning. Assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot and test assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies. Ensure activities are performed correctly and proper tooling and documentation is used. Requires little to no supervision. Utilize technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to product non-conformance and performance test failures for connectors and electro-mechanical assemblies. Responsible for training new operators, assemblers, technicians, etc. Assist in setting job priorities and determining workload requirements. Responsible for leading team meetings. Responsible for always setting a good example of employee conduct. Responsible for transacting completed work orders throughout inventory locations. Assume the role of supervisor in his/her absence such as running daily production reports and escalate issues. Drive and initiate process improvements within hardware and test equipment which includes detection and isolation of performance discrepancies at each phase of assembly. May require working with Manufacturing and Quality Engineers. Interpret and understand complex drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Department representative in Customer audits/visits. Other duties as assigned. May be temporarily reassigned to cover workload in other areas of production as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in related mechanical manufacturing assembly operations
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience assisting and/or leading teams or initiatives
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or national; U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder); refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157; or asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158)
  • Detailed knowledge of Aerospace products, manufacturing processes and inspection techniques
  • Ability to solder, wire, prep, and cable laying
  • Experience operating tools such as calipers, torque meters, and micrometers
  • Computer proficiency with the ability to process and analyze data
  • Ability to read, follow and understand verbal instruction, product/ process specifications, drawings, and work orders

Nice To Haves

  • J-STD Solder Certification or Experience
  • Can perform basic electrical tests such as DWIR, DWV, and continuity tests
  • Experience setting up equipment to meet product standards for identification, shell painting, retainer loading, contact painting, wire cutting, riveting, contact crimping and contact hooding
  • Experience weighing, mixing and identifying items such as inks, paints, adhesives, molding compounds and potting materials
  • Experience bonding loaded front inserts to molded plastic rear inserts per work order instructions
  • Experience working with bonds interface seals and grommet seals to plastic insert assemblies per work order instructions
  • Experience preparing single and shielded wires for termination, crimps contacts to prepared wires, terminate simple cables to connectors, and loads and operates heat treat and annealing ovens
  • Associate’s degree
