About The Position

Weir ESCO is seeking a Team Leader for their 2nd shift in Covington, KY. This is a full-time permanent position with overtime available. Weir is a global leader in mining technology, focused on helping customers extract resources more efficiently and sustainably. Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • MIG Welding experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Computer literacy for tracking and reporting production metrics

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Previous experience leading small teams (around 5 members)
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices in manufacturing environments
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic production setting

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a production team of 5 operators and technicians on the 2nd shift to meet daily manufacturing goals.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork on the shop floor.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve operational challenges efficiently.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, downtime, and quality metrics to ensure transparency and continuous monitoring of production performance.
  • Oversee daily production floor operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently met.
  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm behaviors in support of developing a world-class safety culture.
